Rosie Vela Zazu
Vela built a recording studio for herself at home and signed a recording deal with A&M Records. She released her first album Zazu in 1986. The whole album was done and co-written by Vela and was produced by Gary Katz.
The album peaked at #20 in the UK Albums Chart and in March 1987, it was certified silver by the BPI. Further singles “Interlude” and “Fool’s Paradise” did not do that well.

Vela has included contributions from both Donald Fagen and Walter Becker (two of Vela’s musical heroes) six years after they had disbanded their group, Steely Dan.
