After one year Ryan caught the attention of hip hop producer Timbaland and stayed with him for two years to develop as an artist while producing for others at the same time. In June 2007 he signed a worldwide publishing deal with the administration deal with Kobalt Music Publishing. He wrote the worldwide hit Apologize performed by his band One Republic.
