A-Reece whose real name is Lehlogonolo Ronald Mataboge was born on 27th March 1997 in Pretoria, Gauteng in South Africa. He is a South African hip hop recording artist and songwriter. He is popularly known for his song ‘Couldn’t.
His inspiration was drown from his big brother Phologo Jody Mataboge known as P-Jay from the hip hop duo B3nchMarQ. He got his stage name “A-Reece” from his star sign Aries.
In August 2013 he released a debut mixtaple ‘Forever Young’. In 2014 he released “Casper Picture” a song that is inspired by the life of Cassper Nyovest. He was recognized and signed by a South African record producer’Raw x Productions’ at the age of 16.
On 31st October 2014 he released a second project ‘Browniez EP’ under Mythron/Raw X Records.
In 2015 he was signed to Ambitiouz Entertainment and released his first single “Couldn’t” under the label. He released Cutaways EP on 29 September 2016 which consists of songs that didn’t make the cut for his debut album Paradise.
On 21st October 2016he released a debut album that topped the number 1 spot on iTunes just under 24 hours after its release.

A-Reece’s older brother is none other than P-Jay from the hip hop crew Benchmarq. Reece says that his album, titled PARADISE was inspired by a horrific shooting incident which involved his beloved brother. P-Jay survived a gunshot wound.
A Reece Girlfriend
Actress Natasha Thahane and local rapper A-Reece called it quits when they stopped having time to see each other. Thahane, who is the grand daughter of Nobel Peace Prize winner, Laureate and Anglican Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, plays Amo in Mzansi Magic’s The Queen. She hooked up with A-Reece after she allegedly turned down another rapper, Sjava.

A Reece News: A-reece talks about being ‘independent’ in love and music

After leaving Ambitiouz Entertainment following a contractual dispute earlier this year, there was speculation that would curb the A-reece’s momentum, however the rapper has revealed that he is thriving as an independent artist.
The young rapper told TshisaLIVE that he’s had to quickly learn to be responsible now that he has no backing from a big label however he is enjoying the creative freedom.
“It’s crazy and it’s hard. I’ve had to learn to be more responsible and consider the business side of making music now that I’m independent. I am however enjoying the freedom to do whatever I want, especially in making music,” he said.
A-reece, Fifi Cooper and B3nchMarQ left the record label after internal conflict with management in February.
The Paradise hitmaker, who has since joined a group called The Wrecking Crew, said he is “blessed” to have found himself in the company of people who care about him.

“I’m currently in the studio working on a project although I can’t say whether it will be an EP or album or what. We are also doing Whose Tour Is It Anyway with the likes of rapper JR. We’re taking the music to the people because they deserve it,” he said.
The 20-year-old also revealed that he is currently single, and joked that girls just wanted to hang out with him. He added that he is currently content with his life of making music and performing.
“The way I’m living right now, I’m all about the music. Yes, I’m single but I’m a 20-year-old,” he said.
