Interviewer: You entered Idols twice & at such a young age. How did your Idols participation influence your school studies?
Shekhinah Donnell: Idols actually gave me the motivation to work hard and finish my schooling so that I could do music full time if I passed matric, which I did.

Shekhinah Donnell: Dramatic arts
Interviewer: The Durban Auditions is coming up in February 2013. What advice would you give to aspiring Idols contestants to survive the audition phase? The do’s and don’ts?
Shekhinah Donnell: My biggest advice from experience would be to take it seriously because this competition can change your life weather you win or not.

Shekhinah Donnell: The idols house was absolutely luxurious but also extremely homey.
Interviewer: You seemed very close to Chloë. Is it difficult to start a friendship when you are actually rivals? Do you still have contact with Chloë?
Shekhinah Donnell: No, it’s not. We mostly encouraged each other then competed against. Chloë and I are still in contact I made life long friends with everyone

Shekhinah: To be famous in my opinion is to be well known by more then 5000 people but not always for having a talent
Interviewer: Do you still have the same friends than before Idols?
Shekhinah: Yes I definitely have the same. A few more but I know who my to- die friends are
Interviewer: The judges did not use their save for the 1st time in Idols history this year. Did you feel let down by them, esp. Gareth who seemed very supportive of you through out Idols?
Shekhinah: It’s the judges choice if they felt it did not need to be used then we can’t argue
