Surprise Moriri Biography
Surprise Moriri (Surprise Mohlomolleng Moriri) was born on 20th March 1980 in Matibidi in South Africa. He is a South African footballer who plays as a midfielder or striker for Highlands Park.
Surprise Moriri Career
Surprise Moriri began his career in Wattville Watford Brothers .He usually plays as a second striker or behind the striker as a supporting striker. In 2002 he joined Silver Stars where he played for two seasons making 51 outings and scoring 19 times. On 8th October 2003 he made his international debut in a friendly match against Lesotho.
Surprise Moriri was chosen as South Africa’s PSL Player of the Season in 2005–06. In the 2006–07 season he scored 11 league goals and three in the CAF Championship league. He scored his first international goal on 24th March 2007 when South Africa played Chad and won 3-0 in the MTN Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The 2007–08 season saw him less prolific in the league only managing three league goals but in the process scoring two Nedbank Cup goals, one MTN 8 goal, one Tekom Knockout goal and four CAF Champions League, giving him a total of 11 goals.
On 18 June 2007, Sundowns played a friendly against FC Barcelona in South Africa. Moriri scored within one minute and 30 seconds to make it 1–0. He was part of the Bafana Bafana squad for the 2010 World Cup, coming off the bench against Uruguay. In November 2016 he left Sundowns and joined Highlands Park.

In July 2017 a source revealed that Surprise Moriri is returning to Sundowns as a development coach. Moriri said that he can confirm that he has retired from football as a player to focus on coaching. He said that it was an easy decision since playing football has been part of his life for many years.
“Last season‚ I started doing my coaching badges and managed to obtain a Caf B License and my focus going forward will be on helping younger players to fulfill their potential.It is something that I have thought long and hard about and I am looking forward to the challenge of becoming a coach.” He told
the Sunday Times.
