He is perhaps best known for his time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and has also wrestled for World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (WWF/WWE), Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA, Jim Crockett Promotions (JCP), later Impact Wrestling, and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).
Steiner also served as a four-time world champion in wrestling, being a one-time WWA World Heavyweight Champion, a one-time WWC Universal Heavyweight Champion, a one-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and a one-time WWA World Heavyweight Champion (Indianapolis version). He is the eighth WCW Triple Crown Champion.
