Diop rose to fame at 18 when the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him as the 8th overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft. His shot-blocking capabilities and impressive defensive skills made him a flash hit on the court. He became the youngest prep-to-pro player in league history after he joined the NBA directly out of high school.
