Global National is the English language flagship national newscast of Canada’s Global Television Network. It is produced from Global’s national news center in Burnaby, British Columbia, with Dawna Friesen and Robin anchoring the weekday and weekend editions respectively. From 2008 to 2010, the program was the only Canadian network newscast to be regularly anchored from the nation’s capital, Ottawa.
Before coming to Global National, Robinson spent eight years reporting and anchoring at Global Toronto, covering some of the region’s biggest stories, including the Dalai Lama’s visit, the SARS outbreak, and the Air France crash at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
