Birgitte Hjort Sørensen is a Danish actress who was born in Hillerød and brought up in Birkerød, Denmark. She is widely known for playing Katrine Fønsmark in the television series Borgen. She made her debut in American film in Pitch Perfect 2 as antagonist Kommissar. In 2016, Sørensen appeared in the HBO series Vinyl. She was nominated for the Robert Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her role opposite Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in Ved verdens ende.
