John started his screen profession in 1999 with an appearance in a season one episode of the spoof comedy series ‘ Strangers with Candy’ by Comedy Central. He made a guest appearance in’ The Sopranos ‘ a year later, portraying Eric Scatino, the character’s son of Robert Patrick, Davey Scatino.
John was also cast as Luke Madigan in 2000 in the ABC sitcom ‘ Madigan Men.’ After airing only nine episodes, however, that show was canceled.
John worked with the director’s Bob Cea, Andrzej Krakowski, and Jeff Mazzola in his debut film,’ Campfire Stories’ (2001). The anthology horror film received mixed reviews from the critics when it was released, but since then it has achieved cult status. He landed the recurring role of Gabriel Bowman in the superhero series’ Witchblade’ of TNT after relocating to Los Angeles.
After hearing for’ Nip / Tuck,’ he expressed his doubts about portraying Matt McNamara to the show’s producers as he felt that he was too old for the character. He was hired, however. The pilot episode aired on July 22, 2003, and it didn’t take long for the show to gain an audience for itself.
