Reiss is a former professional basketball player and current head coach of the University of Rhode Island women’s basketball team. She was born in Eldred, New York, in 1970 and graduated from the University of Virginia in 1992 with a degree in sports management. Reiss was drafted by the Utah Starzz in the first round of the inaugural WNBA draft in 1997. She played two seasons for the Starzz, averaging 4.8 points and 2.3 assists per game.

She served as an assistant coach at Virginia (1993-96), Cal State Fullerton (1996-98), the San Antonio Silver Stars (1998-2001), and the Utah Starzz (2002-03).
