Tape Face America’s Got Talent
At first, Tape auditioned as a mime act on the 11th season of America’s Got Talent. However, he was eliminated during the Preliminaries of the competition. During his first audition episode 1101, it consisted of him wearing two oven mitts with eyes as puppets singing Diana Ross & Lionel Richie’s Endless Love.
From there, he playfully caresses himself with a red dress to Chris de Burgh’s Lady in Red. This performance made Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell vote yes. This sent Tape’s face straight to the judge’s cut. At the Cuts, his performance was in episode 1109 which consisted of him miming flying in a biplane by spanning a toothbrush with one finger.
He then spun on a stool to portray free-falling with Tom Petty’s Free falling playing in the background. From there, tape face invited Howie Mandel to the stage and put tape on Howie’s shirt in the shape of eyes and nose. Finally, he placed an envelope on Howie’s belly to act as a singing mouth. Tape Face’s performance was strong enough for the judges to send him to the Quarterfinals instead of Ryan Beard and Sam Morril.
After successfully proceeding to the finals, his performance in Episode 1121 consisted of first shaking two horsies on a stick and finger-snapping to William Tell by Rossini. next, he invited Mel B and instructed her to shake golden sparkly pom-poms.
