Tim Kennedy (born Timothy Fred Kennedy)is a former American mixed martial artist who has competed in the UFC, Strikeforce, WEC, ShoMMA, HDNet Fights, and represented the Red Bears of Chicago at the IFL.
Kennedy began studying under Terry Kelly and Barry Smith at the Dokan School of Martial Arts, in Atascadero, California. He started fighting for the first time in 1996, compiling a 30–1 record over the next five years. Kennedy started practicing at The Pit in San Luis Obispo in 1999, with Chuck Liddell, Jake Shields, Gan McGee, and John Hackleman.
He participated and won an Extreme Challenge 50 one-night tourney in 2003, winning all three of his fights. He joined the Army in 2004. During 2006, Kennedy fought only once.

In the Strikeforce mixed martial arts team, Kennedy is a middleweight fighter. He lost to Ronaldo Souza at Strikeforce’s vacant Strikeforce Middleweight Championship: Houston on 21 August 2010.
