Tony Evans Quotes
-Success is not what you have done compared to what others have done. Success is what you have done compared to what you were supposed to do.
-Don’t magnify your problems, magnify your God…he’s got you covered.
-Men, God is not opposed to greatness. God is opposed to pride. Big difference. Unfortunately, it is a difference not widely understood or embraced.
-The single greatest reason why we are losing a generation is that the home is no longer the place of the transference of the faith. We live in a day of ‘outsourcing’…Today, we have a generation of people that outsource their kids.
-You are not fighting for victory—you are fighting from victory. This battle has already been won!
-One of the major problems leading to the breakdown of society is that we have far too many opinions dictating life choices and not enough truth mandating them.
-Jesus didn’t wait until we got better to die for us. He died when we were in our most unlovely state. The person who doesn’t deserve love actually needs love more, not less. If you know someone unworthy of love, that’s great! You now have a chance to emulate Christ, because the essence of His love is unconditional.
-It has nothing to do with whether you like God’s rules. It’s not your kingdom. If you want to operate by your own rules, then you need to go out and create your own world. But as long as you are in God’s world, where God has set the rules, you must abide by His rules or you become a rebel against His kingdom government.
-The tragedy today is that many Christians think they are fighting flesh and blood in their marital and parenting issues, rather than realizing that Satan has an agenda to destroy their home. Whoever controls the family controls the future.
-Our God is sovereign. That means there’s no such thing as luck. Anything that happens to you, good or bad, must pass through His fingers first. There are no accidents with God. I like the story of the cowboy who applied for health insurance. The agent routinely asked him, ‘Have you ever had any accidents?’ The cowboy replied, ‘Well no, I’ve not had any accidents. I was bitten by a rattlesnake once, and a horse did kick me in the ribs. That laid me up for a while, but I haven’t had any accidents.’ The agent said, ‘Wait a minute. I’m confused. A rattlesnake bit you, and a horse kicked you, Weren’t those accidents?’ ‘No, they did that on purpose.
-If you don’t know the truth, or if you don’t act on the truth, the shield of faith is impotent. In order to have faith, you have to know and respond to truth. And as we saw earlier, truth is fundamentally God’s viewpoint on a matter.
-Even when things seem to be going wrong, they just could be going right because when you’re in God’s will, the negatives are part of his positive program.
-Many in our society want the benefits of freedom without its responsibilities and boundaries. They want “God bless America,” but not one nation under God.
-Our wives are like mirrors, reflecting back to us what kinds of husbands we are.
-Tenacious prayer is a lifestyle that produces results.
-Religion can be one of the greatest hindrances to faith because it creates dependency on a ritual rather than on the God of the universe who can do all things.
-Simply defined, prayer is earthly permission for heavenly interference.
-CHURCH is like a hospital. It’s where people who are sick, broken, bruised, beaten, and battered with life because of sin and unrighteousness come for help. It’s okay if you are here and don’t have all your life together. If you had all your life together, you wouldn’t need to be here. However, hospitals do not tolerate sick people hanging around who don’t want to get better. No doctor is going to keep fooling with a patient.
-Putting on the shoes of peace can help you make good choices. God says when you allow His peace to rule your life, He will call the shots. When you’re worrying about what you’re supposed to do, He will calm your heart and your mind by giving you peace.
-If you align your thoughts and your desires underneath His comprehensive rule over every area of your life, you will walk in peace. He will calm your heart and your mind by giving you peace.
-Obeying the will of God takes priority over satisfying cultural expectations.
-A friend is someone who gets in your way when you are on your way down.
-When we allow our faith to be defined by our feelings, we will be confused. Faith must have an objective standard by which it is defined—truth. In fact, when faith operates by an objective standard of truth, it will eventually dictate our emotions rather than the reverse.
-faith is acting as if God is telling the truth.
-If all you see is what you see, you will never see all that there is to be seen. Since.
-wrong is because it is the taking of a life. When you take someone’s life, you also take away their right to liberty and their pursuit of happiness. If you take someone’s life, you also take their dream, their future, their family, their career, and their children away from them. All other rights are lost when you take away the right to life.
-What is true outside of us in our actions, decisions, conversations, and choices ought to be true inside our spirit because it is within our spirit that God relates to us.
-You don’t have to seek anyone else’s approval for the life God has given you to live. You don’t have to apologize for the strength, fortitude, courage, talent, beauty, or intellect your Creator has given you. Ladies, we all are “God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
-Faith is acting as if God is telling the truth. It is acting as if something is true even when it doesn’t appear to be true in order that it might be shown to be true simply because God said it’s true.
