Tyler is well known as the founder of the rock band Issues. He formed the band after leaving the rock band Woe, Is Me. Additionally, he formed the band with former Woe, Is Me band members Michael Bohn, Cory Ferris, and Ben Ferris in 2012.

Issues released their debut EP Black Diamonds in 2012. However, initial band members Cory Ferris and Ben Ferris were not part of Issues when releasing the EP Black Diamonds. Skyler Acord played bass guitar while his brother Tyler Acord played keyboards and turntables. Tyler was the lead vocalist in the EP.

Issues released their debut studio album, Issues, in 2014. Furthermore, the album Issues was such a success that it peaked at number nine on the U.S. Billboard 200. Tyler Carter helped Issues release their second EP  Diamond Dreams, and second studio album, Headspace on Nov 18, 2014 and 2016 respectively.

Moreover, Carter became the lead and solo vocalist for ISsues in Jan 2018 after Michael Bohn’s departure. However, Carter was removed from Issues after several allegations of sexual misconduct and grooming.
