Jason Thompson Biography
Jason Thompson born Jason Carlton Thompson, is an American professional basketball player. He was born on July 21, 1986 in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.
Jason Thompson went to Lenape High School in Medford, NJ where he led the team to an undefeated regular season and to its first New Jersey Group IV title in 2004.
Jason Thompson played four years for the Rider University Broncs where he graduated with a degree in Communications TV/Radio. While at Rider, he was MAAC player of the year, a two-time MAAC defensive player of the year and received the Haggerty Award as the best Division I basketball player in the New York area including NYC, New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania. He holds the Rider University record in rebounding and is 2nd all-time in scoring. Rider retired JT’s jersey and named the court in the practice gym after him. In June 2016, JT was inducted into the Rider University Sports Hall of Fame.
Jason Thompson is an eight-year NBA veteran. The Sacramento Kings selected him 12th in the 2008 NBA draft. He became the longest-tenured player in Sacramento Kings history playing in 541 games. JT was in the Kings starting lineup for all seven seasons averaging 25 minute per game and becoming one of the hardest-working, most durable players ever to play there. In his eighth NBA season, he played in the NBA playoffs with the Toronto Raptors.
In 2017, Jason brought his game to the EuroLeague where he’s currently playing for the league’s defending champions, Fenerbahce. In addition to the EuroLeague championship, Fenerbahce has won eight Turkish championships. The team is based in Istanbul, Turkey where it perpetually sells out its 14,000-seat arena.
Since his rookie season in the NBA, Jason has been one of the most charitable athletes in professional sports. His current efforts are centered on the L.I.V.E. Like JT (LLJT) program. Since its introduction in 2017, LLJT has given scholarships to 90% of the children participating in Jason’s elite basketball camp and sent 400 backpacks and school supplies to the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Houston. LLJT is currently working on donating turkeys and other Thanksgiving food to families in need in Jason’s home state of New Jersey and taking kids from the Boys and Girls Club in New Jersey on a shopping trip for Christmas.
Jason is also the board president and primary benefactor of The Jason Thompson Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to creating healthy lifestyles for children and young adults by providing the resources and social support needed to live each day as active, heart-healthy individuals.
After Jason Thompson is done playing, he plans to pursue a career in sports broadcasting. He attended the NBPA Sportscaster U and has been getting practical broadcasting experience on local and national television and radio programs all over the country. He recently started the podcast, Pick Up Game.

Jason Thompson agreed to a one-year deal with Fenerbahce. It is a $1.8 million deal with bonuses that could get it to $2 million. Thompson was in China last season after he played just 47 games in the 2015-16 season.

Thompson led Lenape High School to the 2004 New Jersey Group IV state title,he played four seasons of college basketball for the Rider Broncs men’s basketball from 2004 to 2008, where he was one of three players in the NCAA in 2006–07 to average 20 points and 10 rebounds per game.During the 2007–08 season, Thompson averaged 20.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.7 blocks and 1.1 steals per game.His strongest performance came on March 9, 2008 when he recorded 32 points and 18 rebounds against Marist College.He led Rider to the 2008 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament finale against Siena College a day later. Rider fell short in a 74–53 loss in which Thompson registered 22 points and 12 rebounds.Rider finished the regular season and conference tournament schedule with a strong 23–10 record, but still missed an at-large bid to the NIT. However, Rider did receive a bid to the inaugural College Basketball Invitational tournament in 2008. Rider lost its first-round game to the Old Dominion Monarchs 68–65; Thompson finished with 15 points, 17 rebounds and 3 blocks.He concluded his collegiate career as the all-time leading rebounder in Broncs history.

Spring Session: March 17, 24, April 7, 14
This camp will cover the fundamentals of pitching and is intended for players to learn proper mechanics while receiving the reps necessary to build confidence. Each day practice will start with a throwing routine and transition to drills focusing on specific mechanics. There will be two sessions during the winter/spring with each session consisting of four days.it’s limited to 10 players per session
Youth Development Camp
Spring Session : March 17, 24, April 7, 14
This camp will cover the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, and throwing and is intended for young players to receive quality instruction and the reps necessary to gain confidence in their game during the off season. Each day players will be divided into small groups and will practice hitting followed by fielding drills. There will be two sessions during the winter/spring with each session consisting of four days.Includes HitTrax analysis for all players

This indoor hitting league will feature the HitTrax gaming module which will allow players to compete against other teams in a fun and competitive environment. Each team will be given a four week schedule of doubleheaders on Sundays in which they will receive tons of quality at bats playing in simulated games.
