Paul Allen (Paul Gardner Allen) was an American entreprenuer, investor and philanthropist born on 21st January 1953 in Seattle, Washington, United States. He died on 15th October 2018 of cancer. He is the founder and Chairman of Vulcan Inc. and also the co-founder of Microsoft with Bill Gates.
He was the founder and Chairman of Vulcan Inc., which manages his various business and philanthropic efforts. Allen owns a multi billion-dollar investment portfolio including technology and media companies, real estate holdings, and stakes in other companies. He also has two professional sports teams: the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League and the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association, and he is also a part-owner of the Seattle Sounders FC, which joined Major League Soccer in 2009.
Allen was the founder of Allen Institute for Brain Science, Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Institute for Cell Science, and Stratolaunch Systems.

Allen schooled at Lakeside School, a private school in Seattle, where he became a friend to Bill Gates, two years younger, with whom he shared an enthusiasm for computers. The two friends used Lakeside’s Teletype terminal to develop their programming skills on several time-sharing computer systems. They even used the laboratory of the Computer Science Department of the University of Washington, doing personal research and computer programming; on at least one occasion in 1971 they were banned from the access of laboratory for abusing their privileges there.
According to Paul Allen, in their teenage years, would go dumpster diving for computer program code. After acquiring a perfect SAT score of 1600 and graduating, Allen enrolled in Washington State University, where he joined Phi Kappa Theta fraternity, but he left the university after two years in order to work as a programmer for Honeywell in Boston, near where Bill Gates went to. Once it takes off the rocket would drop, then fire their engines and deliver satellites to orbit.
Allen has greater ambitions for Stratolauch and is considering pairing it with a new space shuttle that’s know inside the company as “Black Ice.”

Paul owns a yatch known as Octopus, a 414-foot (126 m) megayacht, launched in 2003. It is one of the world’s largest and most recognizable yachts. It is launched in 2003 regularly lent out for exploration projects, scientific research initiatives and rescue missions.
It has two helicopter pads on the main deck, a twin pad and hangars at the stern and a single pad on the bow; and a 63-foot (19 m) tender docked in the transom and a landing craft. It has seven tenders aboard. The yacht also has a pool, located on one of its upper decks, and two submarines (one of them operated by remote control and capable of attaining greater depths). The latter was lent to Google Earth for the “Explore the Ocean” project. Side hatches at the water line form a dock for jet skis.

Paul Allen Death

On behalf of the family his sister, Jody Allen, released a statement saying; “While most knew Paul Allen as a technologist and philanthropist, for us he was a much-loved brother and uncle, and an exceptional friend. Paul’s family and friends were blessed to experience his wit, warmth, his generosity and deep concern,” she said in a statement. “For all the demands on his schedule, there was always time for family and friends. At this time of loss and grief for us – and so many others – we are profoundly grateful for the care and concern he demonstrated every day.”
Bill Gates also released a statement saying; “I am heartbroken by the passing of one of my oldest and dearest friends, Paul Allen, Paul was a true partner and dear friend. Personal computing would not have existed without him.”
