Russell Westbrook is an American professional basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Westbrook is an eight-time NBA All-Star, two-time NBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player, winning consecutive awards in 2015 and 2016, and a seven-time All-NBA Team member and led the league in scoring in 2014–15 and 2016–17.
Westbrook became one of two players in NBA history in 2017 to average a triple-double for a season, along with Oscar Robertson in 1962. He was subsequently named the 2016–17 NBA Most Valuable Player and this feat was repeated the following season when he again averaged a triple-double across 80 games. Westbrook has represented the U.S. national team twice, enabling him to win gold medals in the 2010 FIBA World Championship and the 2012 Olympics.
Speaking of his career, Westbrook was passionate about basketball since his high school life. During his senior year, Westbrook averaged 25.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.1 steals, and 2.3 assists and helped lead them to a 25-4 record. Westbrook was selected to the FIBA World Championship team in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2010, and he was considered a star on the team. Since 1994, team USA went 9-0, winning its first World Championship, qualifying it for the 2012 Olympics in London. They overtook Argentina for the No. 1 world ranking.
He was also appointed to play for the 2012 Summer Olympic team in London, where he won a second gold medal. He was once invited to join the 2016 Olympic team, but he declined.

Russell Westbrook Injury
Westbrook had surgery on his right knee, which made him not to return to basketball. Reports stated that he would miss the first two weeks of the regular season, but he would miss only the first two games.
