Steve Tisch to consider Odell Beckham for movies after football
Odell Beckham Jr. could at some point be the next star athlete to make the transition to Hollywood star. According to New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch, Beckham may even be featured in one of his produced films after a “long” career with the Giants. A TMZ reporter recently asked Tisch if we might eventually see Beckham in some of Tisch’s films.
“After a long career,” said Tisch, via TMZ. “He’s going to have a long career.”
The Giants co-owner has produced such films as ‘The Equalizer,’ ‘Southpaw’ and the Oscar-winning classic, ‘Forrest Gump. Could Tisch look to make Beckham the next superstar athlete turned actor after his career is over? Time will tell. For now, the focus is on Beckham helping the Giants franchise get their fifth Lombardi Super Bowl trophy.
Tisch is hoping he can play some role in guaranteeing Beckham not only has a long career but that the 25-year-old wide receiver has a long career with the Giants.

According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, the Giants and Beckham’s representatives have finally opened long-term contract negotiations. However, there is currently no timetable set on coming to an agreement for a new long-term deal.
“The process has finally begun,” Raanan wrote.
“The New York Giants opened talks about a new contract with star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. earlier this week, a source told ESPN.
“The talks are a promising sign for the two sides in hopes of having something finalized before the season opener on Sept. 9 at MetLife Stadium against the Jacksonville Jaguars.”
In 2008, shortly after the Giants won the Super Bowl in 2007, wide receiver Plaxico Burress wanted to rip up his current contract where he was vastly underpaid and receive a new long-term deal from the franchise. Burress reported to camp but didn’t do much at practice as he waited for his representatives to negotiate a new long-term contract. Finally, just hours before the regular season opener, the Giants agreed to a new deal with Burress. It’s very possible the franchise could follow this exact same path with Beckham.
Earlier this week, Tisch’s partner, Giants co-owner John Mara hopped on WFAN Radio and discussed the potential of a long-term deal with Beckham. Mara told WFAN Radio host Mike Francesa that the franchise would love to get a deal done prior to the team’s regular season home opener, but that it had to be a “reasonable” agreement for both sides.
“Depends on how reasonable they want to be. I don’t have a feel yet for how long this [negotiation] is gonna take,” Mara said to Francesa on WFAN Radio. “I don’t think we have any deadline imposed on that. We’ll talk as long as it takes…but it’s got to be something that makes sense for both of us.”
