Viola Davis,an American actress and producer born on August 11, 1965, Saint Matthews, South Carolina.She is the daughter of Mary Alice Logan and Dan Davis.Her father worked as a horse groom at nearby racetracks while her mother took on domestic and factory jobs.
Davis attended Central Falls High School before she enrolled at Rhode Island College, where she majored in theatre and graduated in 1988.She was awarded an honorary doctorate in Fine Arts from the college in 2002.After her graduation from Rhode Island, Davis attended the Juilliard School for four years

Davis made her Broadway debut in 1996 after starring in the film, Seven Guitars in which she played the long-suffering paramour of a musician recently released from prison.
In 2001, she won the Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award for her portrayal of Tonya in King Hedley II, a 35-year-old mother fighting eloquently for the right to abort a pregnancy.
Viola Davis later played a maid who works for a well-intentioned but cloistered housewife Far from Heaven in 2002 and also the mother of the title character in Antwone Fisher in the same year.
in the year 2008 and in the film Doubt, Viola Davis played the mother of a young man who may have been molested by a Roman Catholic priest.Her performance in this film earned her Academy and Golden Globe award nominations for best supporting actress.
Viola also starred in the film The Help in the year 2011 and her performance earned her an Oscar and Golden Globe nods for best actress.
In February 2014, Davis was cast in Peter Nowalk’s pilot How to Get Away with Murder as the lead character.In 2015 she landed the role of a supporting actor in the film Blackhat and later in 2016 she featured in the hit film,Suicide Squad and also in the film Fences.
