Accident

On November 12, 1991, Paz was a passenger in a car that was involved in an accident in Warwick, Rhode Island. He then suffered two fractured vertebrae and a dislocated vertebra in his neck.

Paz returned to the ring thirteen months after the accident and defeated  Luis Santana, the future WBC world junior middleweight champion by a 10-round decision.
