At the age of 23, he was ordained as an Elder under his father, Bishop WIlliam Murphy, J.R. at Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. In 2024, Murphy obtained his Masters of Divinity from Virginia Union University, and is a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity.

Church
Murphy and his wife, Danielle Murphy, Pastors – The Dream Center. In 2001, William moved to Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and their two children, to serve as the worship minister at New Birth Missionary Church. He traveled the world ministering in song and preaching the gospel until September 13, 2005, when he and his wife answered the call to Pastor.
With his wife, they launched “The Dream Center Church of Atlanta” in January 2006. The Dream Center Church of Atlanta transforms lives whereas browsing the arduous method of growing as a ministry. William, an anointed man of God, walks with a trifecta anointing of Bishop, Intercessor, and Worshiper.
