Adam Kinzinger Career
While studying at Illinois State University, Adam vied for an election as a County Board member in McLean County, Illinois in 1998. He won and became one of the youngest serving county board members in McLean County history. He served the board until 2003 when he resigned.
After his graduation, Adam served as an intern for former U.S. Senator Peter Fitzgerald as part of a program granted there. In 2003, he joined the United States Air Force and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in November 2003. He was later awarded his pilot wings.
Initially, Adam was a KC-135 Stratotanker pilot and flew missions in South America, Guam, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Later on, he shifted to flying the RC-26 surveillance aircraft and was posted in Iraq twice.
In February 2019, he was deployed to the US/Mexico border as part of efforts to maintain border security.

In 2016, during the Republican primary, Adam won with 100% of the vote and also, no 100% of the vote. Later in 2018, Adam defeated Democratic challenger Sara Dady with 59.1 percent of the vote and he was left as the only Republican representing a district north of Peoria.
