Buchman was born on 18 September 1974, in Fishers, Indiana. She graduated from a primary school in her hometown of Fisher, Indiana. After her primary school education, Angela attended Hamilton Southeastern High School.
It was there that Buchman was able to develop her interest in meteorology, the atmosphere, natural phenomena, and geography. She was an excellent student at Hamilton Southeastern High School and graduated in 1990.
After graduating from high school Buchman decided to attend Indiana State University so that she could pursue a career and degree in business. Angela dropped out of Indiana State University and started to attend Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana with an eye on her true love, the weather. Angela changed her major from Business to Atmospheric Science and graduated with a degree in 1996.

While in college, Buchman worked at the National Weather Service in Indianapolis. Angela returned home to central Indiana in the year 2001 and her forecasting has earned her five Emmy awards. Angela spent four years forecasting the weather in Sacramento, California.
Buchman began her career as a meteorologist in Sacramento, California where she predicted weather pattens for four years after her graduation. In 2010, Buchman joined WLFI TV channel 18 in West Lafayette, Indiana as a weathercaster, environmental news reporter and forecaster.
Buchman secured a job with Wish TV as a meteorologist, weathercaster and environmental news reporter for eleven years. In 2013, Buchman secured a job with SkyTrack 13 News as a meteorologist, weathercaster and environmental news reporter.
