Abbott has been working as the Chief Weather Forecaster for NewsChannel 3-12 and Fox 11 for the past four years in Santa Barbara. She started her journey at KEYT in December 2019 before making the switch to weather in September 2020.
Abbott first worked as a television news reporter from December 2019 to September 2020. She was promoted to The Morning News Weather Forecaster in September 2020. In January 2023, she was promoted to work as a full-time Chief Weather Forecaster at News Channel 3-12.
Prior to that, she worke as a health reporter, and weather anchor at Cronkite News for Arizona PBS from August 2019 to December 2019. While a student at the Cronkite School she worked as a weather anchor and reporter for Cronkite News on Arizona PBS. There she created short social media videos emphasizing professors and graduate students at ASU.
Further, she designed posts for social media, such as Facebook and Instagram. She also captured and edited videos and pictures of campus events as well as wrote articles for the Grad College newsletter.
