James Reid Biography | Who is James Reid
James Reid (Real Name: Robert James Reid) is a Filipino Australian actor, singer-songwriter, dancer, and record producer. His profession as an actor began in the early 2010s after he won the Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash 2010. He then rose to fame after his lead role in 2014 film Diary ng Panget.
James has starred in TV series too: Till I Met You (2016–17), On the Wings of Love (2015–16) and Good Vibes (2011) while the other films he has starred in include Never Not Love You (2018), This Time (2016), Para sa Hopeless Romantic (2015) and Talk Back and You’re Dead (2014).
As a musician, James has three studio albums as of 2017. They are Palm Dreams (2017), Reid Alert (2015) and a self-titled debut album James Reid (2013). He now has his own label called Careless Music Manila for which he is the CEO.

After the big win n Pinoy Big Brother, James ventured into music professionally, launching “We Are Whatever” together with Bret Jackson on 24th July 2011. This was their first digital EP. The EP featured four original songs that included “Can’t dance” featuring their co-housemates Ann Li and Fretzie Bercede.
He also got to appear in some ABS-CBN shows like Shoutout and Good Vibes alongside his co-housemate Devon Seron. He also got a 2-year Star Magic contract with ABS-CBN.
He left Star Magic in 2012 and signed with Viva Artists Agency. In 2013, he launched his self-titled debut album that comprises of two covers and four original songs, two of which he composed himself.
Reid’s breakthrough came when he starred in the movie Diary ng Panget together with Nadine Lustre, Yassi Pressman and Andre Paras in 2014. He also lent his voice for the movie’s soundtrack.
He starred in yet another successful film “Talk Back and You’re Dead” together with Nadine Lustre, Yassi Pressman and Joseph Marco.
James and his partner Nadine Lustre appeared in the film Para sa Hopeless Romantic on the lead roles and in 2015, he released his second album which trended highly upon its release. James also teamed up with Nadine and appeared in the series ‘On The Wings of Love,’ ‘This Time,’ and ‘Till I Met You’. In January 2016, he and real life partner Nadine, had their first major concert titled “JaDine In Love” at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
He played the role of Jeboy “Jebs” Malabaño in the 2018 film, Miss Granny. This is his first movie without his onscreen partner Nadine. In 2019, he is set to star in the new Pedro Penduko adaptation with the role of Peter Harris, a wimpy teen.

James Reid, Kim Chiu win top honors at this year’s Push Awards

James Reid and Kim Chiu were the big winners at the 2019 Push Awards.
The two bagged the top honors – Male Celebrity of the Year and Female Celebrity of the Year, respectively.
Chiu was also awarded Celebrity Fitspiration of the Year and she’s one-third of the Celebrity
Squad of the Year along with Bela Padilla and Angelica Panganiban.
Reid, on the other hand, together with his girlfriend Nadine Lustre were named Celebrity Couple of the Year.
Maymay Entrata, meanwhile, was named Celebrity Style Inspo of the Year, thanks to her international runway debut. She was also awarded the Female Movie Performance of the Year award for her role in “Loving in Tandem.” Furthermore, her team-up with Edward Barber was dubbed as the Tandem of the Year.

James Reid gives update on movie with Nadine Lustre
MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actor James Reid had said that he does not have an idea why on- and off-screen partner Nadine Lustre backed out from her Metro Manila Film Festival movie “Miracle in Cell No. 7” with Aga Muhlach.
In an interview with the media during the launch of “Iwas BUWIS-it” book where he and Boy Abunda were the ambassadors, James said he was not sure about the reason behind Nadine’s decision.
“Actually, I have no idea. Sorry. I’m not sure what’s the reason was,” James said.
He also said that their upcoming movie together was “put on hold.”
James also backed out from his role in the upcoming movie “Pedro Penduko.”
“I had injury during the training,” James briefly said.
Viva co-founder Vincent Del Rosario reportedly said that Nadine quit from the project because of medical concerns.
“Miss Lustre has begged off the project due to medical concerns and her resulting inability to perform her duties as an actress during the shoot up to the promotion of the film,” the Viva executive said in a letter he wrote for the MMFF committee.
MMFF has reportedly approved Kapamilya actress Bela Padilla as replacement for Nadine.
“We believe that Bela Padilla is an excellent actress and a bankable star and she will significantly contribute to the film’s artistry and commercial success,” MMFF said in a statement.
James Reid explains why judges gave ‘Idol Philippines’ winner perfect 100
MANILA, Philippines — Sixteen-year-old Zephanie Dimaranan was hailed as the first winner of Kapamilya singing reality show “Idol Philippines” last Sunday.
The Laguna native won over Lucas Garcia and Lance Busa for the title as she received 100 percent of combined viewers’ and judges’ votes, while Lucas came in second with 70.2 percent of combined votes, and Lance placed third with 41.89 percent of the combined votes.
“Yes, I think she is really deserving and we’re really happy how it turned out,” one of the judges, James Reid, said in an interview with Philstar.com during the launch of “Iwas BUWIS-it” book, where he and Boy Abunda were the ambassadors.
“I plan to help some of the top five by producing,” added the singer-actor, who has his own recording studio, Careless Music Manila.
In the final rounds, Zephanie showed her singing prowess by performing Ted Ito’s Original Pinoy Music (OPM) classic, “Maghintay Ka Lamang,” and a song composed for her by songwriter Jonathan Manalo called “Pangarap Kong Pangarap Mo.”
Prior to winning “Idol Philippines,” the teen singing sensation also joined the “The Voice Kids” in 2015 and “It’s Showtime’s” “Tawag ng Tanghalan.”
She was one of Sarah Geronimo’s proteges in the “The Voice Kids” season where Elha Nympha won. She joined “Tawag ng Tanghalan” in which Jenine Berdin later on emerged as winner.
During the audition rounds, Zephanie sang Sarah’s hit “Forever’s Not Enough.” She impressed all the judges that include Vice Ganda, Moira dela Torre, James and Regine Velasquez, with all of the judges voting “yes” for her.
She was a consistent top vote getter throughout the competition. In the Day 1 of the Grand Finals, she performed “Lipad ng Pangarap.”
