Talking about her ex-husband’s career; Sammy Hagar began his career in the early 1970s as the lead singer of Montrose. The band released two albums, Montrose (1973) and Paper Money (1974), before Hagar left to pursue a solo career. His solo career was launched in 1976 with the release of his debut album, Nine on a Ten Scale. The album was a commercial success, reaching #13 on the Billboard 200 chart. Hagar released a total of 10 solo albums in the 1970s and 1980s, all of which were successful.
In 1985, Hagar joined Van Halen as the band’s new lead singer. He replaced David Lee Roth, who had left the band the previous year. Hagar’s tenure with Van Halen was very successful, and the band released four albums with him: 5150 (1986), OU812 (1988), For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge (1991), and Balance (1995). All four albums went to #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Hagar left Van Halen in 1996 due to creative differences with the band.
