Bourelly started collaborating with producer, Paperboy Fabe, while still living in Maryland. Later he would arrange for her to have a session in Los Angeles with Kanye West. In the end, the session produced “Higher” from Rihanna, which Bourelly wrote in about 30 minutes. Rihanna heard another of Bourelly ‘s written tracks, “Bitch Better Have My Money” about the same time and chose to make it the lead single off her 2016 album, Anti.
