Calvary of Albuquerque Church
Calvary is a Christian church in Albuquerque New Mexico, U.S.A. It began in 1982, as a home Bible study that eventually grew into Calvary of Albuquerque, for Christians gathering with the purpose of knowing and glorifying Jesus Christ.
Skip Heitzig is the American founder and senior pastor of the church. In 1988 and 1989, it was listed as one of the fastest growing churches in America. In addition to that, Calvary of Albuquerque was listed as one of the 15 largest churches in America with an average weekend attendance of 13,000, back in the year 2006.
All they do is create change in life. The church builds and provides opportunities for change in every domain of life: spiritually, relationally, professionally, and emotionally.
Basically, what they intend is for people to give Jesus Christ their lives and become better husbands and wives, mothers and fathers, as well as employees and business owners. A relationship with Jesus improves your life making you better.
Calvary of Albuquerque has a vision which is to pursue the God who passionately pursues a lost world; they do this by connecting with one another, through worship, by the Word, to the world.
The church’s mission is to express the adoration of Jesus through dynamic worship and uncompromised obedience. Again, Calvary has a culturally accepted truth which is to Love the Past; Live the Future.

Good Friday Service
A multitude of people filled the amphitheater and greenbelt at Calvary Church as they gathered on Good Friday to remember the utmost sacrifice, Jesus Christ. Before taking Communion as the body of Christ, they enjoyed worship with Battledrums and a special message from Pastor Skip.
Vitalant, which was formerly referred to as United Blood Services, was on campus for an annual blood drive from 7:30 am to noon and 1 to 3 pm. Their mission statement then was “blood saves lives”. We will continue to update as more Good Fridays occasion every year.
Calvary of Albuquerque Israel Trip
Over the past thirty-plus years, pastor Skip Heitzig traveled to Israel many times. He said, “I’ve found that there’s always something new to see or experience. Visiting the land where Jesus taught, preached, and healed is hard to top.”
Therefore, pastor Skip is thrilled to invite you to join him and his wife, Lenya, on their next adventure to Israel which will be on February 24 to March 6, 2020. Alongside them will be Inspiration Cruises & Tours.
Pastor Skip Heitzig continues to explain, “On the tour, we’ll visit sites on the coast and around Galilee, including Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, the Jordan River, Bethlehem, and the Dead Sea. We’ll also see Jerusalem, exploring the Temple Mount, Calvary, the Mount of Olives, and more. You’ll experience the first-rate service Inspiration is known for as we travel by motor coach and stay in some of the best hotels Israel has to offer.”
Above all, the Calvary church pastor hopes that you’ll experience the spiritual life change that so often comes with a trip like this. He goes on to say on the Inspiration Cruises and Tours page, “As you enjoy fellowship with other believers and on-site Bible studies, I believe the Word of God will come alive to you in a way it never has before.”

she Ministries is a Fresh Life Bible Study Series at Calvary Albuquerque, that helps women grow closer to God. Women will learn that the Word of God does the work of God in their lives, after examining various topics and books of the Bible. The Bible Study is uncomplicated yet intensely heartfelt in its fresh approach to timeless truths.
Women here live abundantly through studying the Living Word and walk away feeling inspired and encouraged. she Ministries promotes friendship and spiritual fellowship through attendance in small groups to discuss and pray about weekly lessons.
These small groups provide the opportunity to fulfill Scripture’s reproach to: “greet one another,” “love one another,” “be devoted to one another,” “be kind to one another,” “be hospitable to one another,” “care for one another,” “forgive one another,” “comfort one another,” “pray for one another,” and “minister to one another.”
As she Ministries member, your life gains perspective and you get the chance to be a doer and not just a hearer of God’s Word.
Apart from that, she Ministries hosts two annual events: Calvary of Albuquerque spring retreat and Christmas celebration. The two getaway events are off-campus and are designed to encourage women to invite friends, family members, and neighbors to join she Ministries.

Calvary of Albuquerque Pastor Killed
In a message on the Calvary of Albuquerque church website, Pastor Skip Heitzig said Greg Griego used to be on Calvary’s staff. He worked with prison inmates and “did a terrific job in helping to rehabilitate convicts and help them and their families re-enter society.” According to the police, Greg was working the overnight shift at a homeless shelter, when his 15-year-old son Nehemiah Griego, shot three siblings and his mother, then lay in wait for him.
While a young man, Greg Griego, had been a gang member but became religious and turned his life around. Nehemiah Griego faces murder and other charges in adult court and is being held without bond.
According to the police involved in his case, Nehemiah Griego first shot his mother, Sarah Griego, and 3 siblings with a .22-caliber rifle as they lay in their beds early Saturday. He then apparently switched to a .223-caliber, military-style AR-15 rifle, which he used on his father hours later.
His brother, Zephaniah, was 9 at the time of his murder while his sisters Jael and Angelina were 5 and 2 years old respectively. Authorities said that the then 15-year-old planned to shoot more people at a Wal-Mart, but instead went to the Calvary Albuquerque church, where he spent much of the day. Surviving members of the Griego family pleaded with the public not to make politically aware the killings.
In a statement, relatives said, “To be clear, our family has differing views on gun rights and gun control. What we do agree on is that those who wish to score political points should not use a confused, misguided, 15-year-old boy to make their case.”
Calvary Albuquerque Radio
