Carole Ghosn Husband’s Case
Carole’s husband, Carlos Ghosn, was captured at Haneda Airport on 19 November 2018, on allegations of under-reporting his earnings and abuse of company assets. On 22 November 2018, Nissan’s board made a unanimous decision to ignore him as Nissan’s chairman. Mitsubishi Motors’ board followed on 26 November 2018.
While out on bail, he was re-arrested on 4 April 2019 in Tokyo over new charges of misappropriations of Nissan funds. On 8 April 2019, Nissan shareholders voted to oust Carlos Ghosn from the company’s board. Carlos was discharged on bail on 25 April.
In June 2019, she pleaded to Donald Trump for help and refused suggestions that she was involved in her husband’s alleged financial crimes.
