Chika Ike born Chika ‘Nancy’ Ike is a Nigerian actress, television personality, producer, businesswoman, philanthropist, and former model. Her name chika meaning ‘God is supreme’, it’s made of the words chí ‘God, universe, originator’, and kà ‘greater, superior’
She was born on November 8, 1985, in Onitsha, Anambra. She Is a human kinetics and health education graduate of the University of Lagos and a graduate of New York Film Academy Los Angeles where she studied film making. Chika started her acting career at the age of 5 in church plays.
In 2005, she landed her first role in the movie Sweetlove and also that year she landed her first lead role in a Nigerian movie called Bless the Child. Ike was nominated for the best upcoming actress at the Africa Movie Academy Award and In 2008. She was nominated for the best-supporting actress and has won several prestigious awards to date.
In 2011 she launched her fashion line ” Fancy Nancy ” and opened her fashion store which deals in female fashion clothes and accessories. In 2015 she went ahead to Film Miss Teacher, a Movie produced and Written by her. Chika Ike (Help A Child) Foundation was founded by Chika Ike in 2011, an NGO which helps kids on the street and gives them hope for a better tomorrow. Nollywood actress, Chika Ike has revealed how she was rejected by her father from birth because he wanted a male child. The actress, who recently released a book, has revealed what motivated her into writing the book.
In a post on Instagram, She said, “I was rejected from birth by my father because he didn’t want a girl. So, it that section talks about me, my challenges growing up and the rejection I faced from my family. The book also talks about the business world because people think I like money.
‘’Well, they may be right because I grew up with nothing and don’t want to be a failure and I always push myself to succeed. I want to challenge myself to be somebody people thought I can never be.

“When I was at Harvard Business School, the first two weeks were about personal case studies and personal development. I was given a coach and I was like I didn’t come here to talk about my family and my life. But the school authority realizes that before you can be successful in your business you must deal with the home front first.
I spoke so much about my life, family and how I was rejected by my father who was a good husband and father to all his children. But I didn’t have a good relationship with him growing up.
‘’I learned early that you have to fight for yourself because, at the end of the day, it is you alone. I talked about my father, my mother and my siblings.”
