Curry played high school basketball at Fort Defiance, where he finished as the all-time leading scorer in school history. He was named a McDonald’s All-American in 1982.
He also played baseball, and won state championships in both sports; he was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 1982 Major League Baseball draft.
