Eden Taylor Draper Emmerdale

Eden’s most notable appearance is in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale where she portrays Belle Dingle, a role she took over in 2005 from Emily Mather.

Her character Belle was born on Christmas Day 1998 to Zak (Steve Halliwell) and Lisa Dingle (Jane Cox). Lisa is unaware that she is pregnant until the baby is due and the local vet Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) delivers Belle

When Belle is seven-years-old, she gets lost, after she is left at home under the supervision of her uncle Shadrach Dingle (Andy Devine), who had taken a nap. Daz Eden (Luke Tittensor) visits, bearing his pet ferret Spike. even after being warned not to, Belle lets the ferret out of his cage and in fright, pursues him through the fields. As she follows him, she tumbles sinking in a mine shaft. Daz is forced to leave the house, and when he encounters her, she jumps in to help her out but realizes that they are cornered, with the risk of freezing or drowning in the water. Daz accomplishes to keep Belle floating until they are ultimately saved by the Dingles and the fire brigade. Belle acts as ring bearer at her cousin Marlon Dingle’s (Mark Charnock) wedding to Donna Windsor (Verity Rushworth) and she briefly moves in with Marlon quickly after.

Belle’s test outcomes show that she is amongst the smartest 2% of children her age and she gains a place at a private school, but she does not get a full scholarship. The Dingles are troubled about how to pay the fees and have to tell Belle that it is unpromising for her to go. Rosemary King (Linda Thorson) takes a fondness to Belle and volunteers to pay the fees. Lisa at first refuses, but when Belle falls ill and Rosemary visits her in the hospital, Lisa changes her mind. On her first day at the school, Belle is matched with Ayesha, who helps her get to grasp the school. They become quick friends, but when Ayesha persuades her to talk about Shadrach in class, the teacher is unimpressed. Belle convinces Rosemary to help her hold a party at Mill Cottage for her mates. At the party, she fascinates the girls by claiming to live at Mill Cottage with Rosemary and Grayson Sinclair (Christopher Villiers). Belle’s parents discover the party and consider taking her out of the school. The Dingles terminate their friendship with Rosemary and Zak temporarily takes up bare-knuckle fighting to raise funds for the school fees. His granddaughter Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) loans them the cash so Belle can retain her place.

One of her notable storylines in Emmerdale was when Belle fell down a mineshaft on Christmas Day 2005. Both her and Luke Tittensor, she obtained the 2006 British Soap Awards, the ‘Spectacular Scene of the Year’ award for this storyline. She was praised by fellow cast members for her 2014 storyline linking the death of her character’s best friend Gemma and its consequence.
