Emmanuelle Seigner is a French actress, model, and singer born in Paris. She is known for her roles in The Diving Bell and the Butterfly 2007.
She has been nominated for a César Award for Best Actress for Venus in Fur 2013 and two César Awards for Best Supporting Actress in Place Vendôme (1998) and La Vie En Rose 2007. She is married to Roman Polanski, French – Polish director.

At a small age, she entered the big screen, she then started working as a model. After making her debut in 1984 in Christopher Frank’s ‘ Year of the Jellyfish, ‘ Emmanuelle landed a role in a film by Jean Luc – Goddard titled ‘ Detective ‘ 1985.
This film helped put her career on a firm footing, She was next seen as Zanon in ‘ Cours prive’. It was only in 1988 that the career of Emmanuelle took on a global dimension with her appearance in the 1988 hit ‘ Frantic ‘ by Roman Polanski, where she shared screen space with Harrison Ford.
She soon forayed into Italian cinema with a prominent role in 1990’s award-winning film ‘ Dark Illness’.
She returned to Polanski’s next project ‘ Bitter Moon ‘ in 1992, and the film was a commercial and critical success. Her husband has directed her in Frantic 1988, Bitter Moon 1992 and The Ninth Gate 1999. Seigner other appearances in the 1990s included many successful films, including the cult classic ‘ Nirvana ‘ 1997 and ‘ The Ninth Gate ‘ 1998 Polanski thriller, She continued her collaboration with Polanski to bring her fame and recognition.
In 2010, she was featured in Jerzy Skolimowski’s Essential Killing, which went on to win the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. In 2012, she played Vanda’s main role in Polanski’s French film adaptation of the two-character play Venus in Fur by David Ives, based on the Austrian novel of the near – same name, for which she received praise as Vanda, an actress who played against the writer and theater director Thomas by Mathieu Amalric.
Seigner appears in Death in Vegas as the main character in the music video “Hands Around My Throat.” She became the pop-rock band’s lead singer Ultra Orange in 2006 and the name of the band was changed to Ultra Orange & Emmanuelle. In tandem with her career in film, Emmanuelle gave voice to her musical talents, recording three studio albums: ‘Ultra Orange & Emmanuelle’ in 2007, ‘Dingue’ in 2010, and ‘Distant Lover’ in 2014.
Emmanuelle has played in numerous award-winning films over the past few years, most notably ‘ Venus in Fur ‘ 2013 and ‘ Based on a True Story ‘ 2017 in past years.
Her last appearance on the big screen was in the Julian Schnabel biopic ‘At Eternity’s Gate’ in 2018. She is currently involved in the drama series ‘Insoupçonnable’ where she portrays the role of the lead Chloé Fisher.
