Eads was born to his father, Arthur Coleman Eads, and his mother, Vivian Baker, on March 1, 1967, in Fort Worth, Texas, United States. He attained a diploma from Belton High School in 1985 and graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing in 1989.
While in college, Eads was an active member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Before starting a career in acting, he worked for Cintas, selling safety supplies and first aid, as well as being a copy machine salesman.
Eads then moved to Los Angeles, California, in a pickup truck assisted by his stepfather. Eads got his big break on the primetime soap opera titled Savannah. Though his character was cut short in the pilot episode, Eads was so famous that he was finally brought back by producers as the character’s identical twin.
Later, Eads guest-starred on ER and performed in many made-for-TV movies, such as Crowned and Dangerous alongside Yasmine Bleeth in 1997.

Eads became popular for his role on the CBS police drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as Nick Stokes. Before starring in CSI, he appeared on less-than-popular shows such as Savannah and Strange Luck, before being cast in TV films such as The Ultimate Lie in 1996 and Crowned and Dangerous in 1997.
