Sanders became part of the news after he returned to the air after undergoing surgery for prostate cancer. He explained how all his well-wishers lifted him during some really rough times.

Sander has been off the air since June 2018. He was diagnosed with cancer in early 2017 and had surgery to remove his prostate. Near the end of his radiation treatment this year, the doctor determined he needed intestinal surgery. It was not early connected with cancer, but it was made more challenging because of the radiation treatment.

Sander, 61, said he suffered a complication that required him to have home health care during his recovering. On top of that, his beloved dog, Buddy, died in October shortly after Sanders’ last surgery.
