She was born on 14 May 1962 in Oak Park, Illinois and was raised in Park Ridge, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. Shamlian has earned some of journalism’s most prestigious awards including a Peabody, an Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Award and several Emmy Awards.
She was born in Oak, Illinois and she spent her childhood growing in Park Ridge, Illinois. This is a well-known suburb in Chicago and is famous because it is the hometown of Hillary Clinton. She did her primary and high schooling from Maine South High School also at Park Ridge.
