Kent is a one-time professional baseball player who had a successful 17-year career in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 20th round of the 1989 MLB June Amateur Draft. He then Played for the Blue Jays, Mets, Indians, Giants, Astros, and Dodgers throughout his career. He primarily played second base, but also spent time at third base and first base.
He has been an advocate for Major League Baseball using blood tests for HGH. Since 2011, Kent has served as a spring training instructor for the San Francisco Giants.
