In the early 1970s, Iovine became a sound engineer with John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, and others. In 1973, Iovine was a partner at the New York record factory, where he worked on Springsteen’s “Born to Run” and Meat Loafs “Bat of Hell albums”.
Known for his work on Patty Smith’s album “Easter” in 1978, which included her first 40 songs “Because It’s Night”. He worked with Tom Petty and Heartbreakers on “Damn the Torpedoes” and U2 on “Rattle and Hum”.
