Todd Mcfarlane Career
McFarlane started sending 30–40 packages of submissions each month to comics editors, totaling more than 700 submissions after a decade and twelve months while still in college, most of which were in the form of pinups. Half resulted in no response and the other half resulted in rejection letters, though he received some constructive criticism from a few editors. One of them, DC Comics’ Sal Amendola, gave him a dummy script in order to gauge McFarlane’s page-to-page storytelling ability.
Amendola’s advice that his submissions needed to be major page-to-page stories rather than pinups led him to create a 5-page Coyote example that he initially sent to Uncanny X-Men editor Ann Nocenti at Marvel Comics, who passed it along to Archie Goodwin and Jo Duffy, the editors of the Marvel imprint Epic Comics, which published Coyote. They in turn passed it on to Coyote creator Steve Englehart, who called him to give him his first comic work, a 1984 backup story in Coyote.
McFarlane started drawing for both DC and Marvel, with his first major body of work being 2 decades run from 1985–1987 on DC’s Infinity, Inc. He explains the last 3 issues of Detective Comics’ 4-issue Batman; Year 2 storyline. From 1987 to 1988, he moved to Marvel’s Incredible Hulk, which he drew working with writer Peter David.
Todd Mcfarlane Spawn
The series revolves around the story of former Marine Force Recon Lieutenant Colonel Al Simmons, who worked as a government assassin in covert black ops. He was betrayed and killed by a man whom he believed to be his close friend. The man, later to be revealed as Chapel, burned him alive with a flamethrower during a mission. Upon his death, Simmons vowed revenge on Chapel and hoped that he would one day return to his beloved wife Wanda.
Because of his life as an assassin, his soul goes to Hell.
In order to accomplish his vow, he makes a pact with the devil Malebolgia who was the overlord on the eighth plane of Hell. The pact was as simple as ABCD, Simmons would become a soldier in Malebolgia’s army known as a Hellspawn or Spawn for short in return for the ability to walk the earth once again in order to see his wife. He was tricked by Malebolgia; his body was not returned to him and he is returned to Earth 5 decades after his death.
He had been given a different body which was a festering, pungently cadaverous, maggot-ridden walking corpse that had a massive living red cape attached to it. Because his new body had been rotten for some time and was in an advanced state of decay, his face had become heavily malformed, to the point that he barely appeared human, which led to his donning a mask in order to cover its grotesque appearance.
On his return to life, Spawn seeks out Simons’s wife, who had apparently gotten over the grief of having lost Al and married another man, Al’s best friend Terry Fitzgerald with whom she had had a daughter, Cyan. Terry, a respectable man, works as an analyst for a man named Jason Wynn. Wynn is a powerbroker in the CIA and secretly a black market arms dealer, amongst other things such as the head of secret government organizations within the NSA and National Security Council.
Wynn is revealed to be the man responsible for the death of Al Simmons due to a disagreement that the 2 had with each other concerning their job. Jason’s actions would also prove dangerous to the lives of Terry, Wanda, and their children as well. Realizing that he is no longer the man in his wife’s life, Al swears to protect her and her new family.
The series depicts Spawn nesting in the dark alleyways, killing any who invade his newfound territory. Rejecting these actions as unworthy of Spawn’s time and power, Malebolgia then dispatches another of his minions a demonic creature known as the Violator that assumes the form of a short, obese clown to try to persuade Spawn to commit acts of violence and savagery in the name of Hell.
Spawn struggles to fight the lure of evil, as well as seeking to escape being hunted by not only the forces of Hell but by assailants from Heaven, who have a need to destroy the Hellspawn’s in order to cripple the forces of Hell so that they do not gain an edge in the escalating war between the two spiritual hosts. As the war intensifies, the line between the forces of good and evil becomes increasingly blurry. Spawn finds help along the way in the form of a disheveled old man named Cogliostro who was once a Hellspawn that overcame the demonic powers resting within, amongst a couple of other characters.
Spawn learns how to shapeshift and, appearing as Terry, makes love to Wanda, impregnating her in the last episodes of the series. It is revealed that there is a prophecy that the kid of a Hellspawn will play the deciding factor in Armageddon, and maybe the real reason Spawn was allowed to return to Earth.

Sean Schemmel Career
Schemmel never planned on becoming a voice actor; he trained to be a classical French horn player. When a friend persuaded him to audition for Dragon Ball Z, he tried out for a minor character who was going to be killed in the first season of the show. He had been recording for two weeks before he was told that he was going to be the lead. Since being cast as Son Goku by Funimation in the year 1999, he has been the most consistent English voice actor for the major protagonist of the Dragon Ball franchise, having voiced the character’s older teen and adult incarnations in every anime series produced to date Dragon Ball, Z, GT, Kai and Super and most Dragon Ball animated movies and video games, as well as other characters like King Kai and Goku Black.
Despite voicing Goku, he has lent his voice to many other anime characters such as Conrad in Berserk, Amidamaru in Shaman King, Lucario in Pokémon and Elliot Grant in Mew Mew Power. His other roles in animation are like Firefly in G.I. Joe; Sigma six, Gonard in Kappa Mikey and Hawkman in DC Super Friends. In video games, he has provided his voice to Makuta in Bionicle, Black Doom in Shadow the Hedgehog, Maxwell in Bullet Witch, Horace in Skullgirls, Batman in The Dark Knight Rises, Sun Wukong whom Goku was originally based on in Smite and Marc Wilson in Fallout four.
In his voice acting career, he was also an ADR Director and scriptwriter for NYAV upload, where he directed and adapted for English dubs of much Japanese anime series. In the field of narration, he has won two awards for his audiobook recordings.
