Justin Allgaier Biography

Justin Allgaier (Justin Myrl Allgaier) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He currently competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He drives the No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro for JR Motorsports. In 2008, he was the ARCA Re/Max Series Champion. In addition, he was the NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year in 2009.

Allgaier began his racing career at the age of five in quarter midgets. While there, he won over one hundred races and five championships. His stock car racing career began at the age of thirteen. He started in the UMP Late Model Series, where he competed for three seasons.

At the age of sixteen, he made his debut in the ARCA RE/MAX Series at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Racetrack. He drove the No. 99 Hoosier Tire Midwest/Law Automotive Chevrolet for Ken Schrader. He qualified twenty-ninth and finished seventeenth. Later, he ran two additional races for Kerry Scherer and Bob Schacht. He got a best finish of eleventh.

2003- 2006

Allgaier ran additional ARCA races in 2003. He made six starts in the No. 86 owned by his father. He had a sixth-place finish in his second start at Toledo Speedway. Later, he had the best finish of third at Salem Speedway. In the next season, he made only five starts but had a second-place at Toledo.

Moreover, he was a representative of the United States in the South Pacific Saloon Car Championship. He had two top-fives. In 2005, Allgaier ran seven races in ARCA, splitting time between cars owned by Wayne Hixson and Bobby Gerhart. He won his first career pole at Springfield, setting a new track record, and had four top-five finishes.

Additionally, he made his NASCAR debut in the Craftsman Truck Series. He made four starts in the No. 63 MB Motorsports/Dave Porter Ford. Unfortunately, he failed to make five races and did not finish higher than 26th. During that year, he appeared on the Discovery Channel program, Driver X: The Race For The Ride. The show’s premise was Jack Roush searching for new talent to drive Roush Racing-prepared vehicles in NASCAR’s top 3 series.

In 2006, Allgaier made his first full-time run in ARCA, ending 10th. He got his first career win at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Racetrack. He became the first Springfield area resident to win in the 72-year history of championship auto racing at the fairgrounds. Further, he made three more Truck races for MB and had a twenty-first-place finish at Kansas Speedway.

2007 – 2010

In 2007, he won his second career ARCA race at Salem and finished fourth in points. He also won two features in a midget car at Angell Park Speedway. For that, he was placed 3rd in the Chili Bowl behind Tony Stewart and J. J. Yeley.

On March 20, 2010, he won his first Nationwide Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Rumors had it that Allgaier was to drive the Sprint Cup Series No. 12 Penske Racing Dodge in 2011. Instead, he moved to Turner Motorsports for 2011, driving the No. 31 Chevrolet Impala full-time in the Nationwide Series for 2011. He almost won at Road America but ran out of fuel on the caution on the final lap and finished 19th.

2012 to Date

In 2012, Allgaier returned to the renamed Turner Scott Motorsports. In 2013, Allgaier made his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut. He finished 27th in his debut. Later in the year, he ran races for the team at Kansas Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway and Phoenix International Raceway.

Allgaier returned for the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. He got three 2nd-place finishes at Phoenix, California and Bristol. Later,he had his first win of the season at Dover. Justin Allgaier Atlanta

Justin Allgaier piloted the Cessna Chevrolet Camaro SS to a third-place finish in the Rinnai 250 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The No. 7 team’s second top-three finish in two races moved Allgaier from fifth up to third in the NASCAR Xfinity Series point standings.

This was after qualifying was canceled due to rain. The field was set by 2018 owner points. Allgaier started the race in seventh and drove up to fourth in a hurry. He relayed on lap 6 that the No. 7 Cessna Chevy was tight landing in Turns 1 and 2 and pretty good everywhere else. He moved into third place on lap 8.

As the run went on, he reported he was loose on exit. He however held on to the third spot through the rest of Stage One. Towards the stage’s conclusion, the team made a pit stop for four tires, fuel and adjustments.

He started the second stage in fourth on lap 48 and lost some positions after the car ahead of him spun his tires. A few laps into the run, he radioed that the changes during the last pit stop made the Cessna Camaro tighter and hurt the center.

By the end of Stage Two on lap 80, Allgaier was in 11th. Under the stage-ending caution, the team opted to reverse the most recent changes and gave the No. 7 Chevy four tires and fuel.

Justin Allgaier Cup Series

Allgaier needs to give the Cup Series another try, and someone needs to give him that opportunity.

Much of the talk lately has centered around how Christopher Bell is ready to move up to Cup next year. Well, Allgaier has proved this season that he is just as talented as Bell, and those two need to continue their rivalry up at the highest level of stock car racing.

When Allgaier raced in Cup before, he wasn’t dealt a fair hand. He drove for HScott Motorsports for two seasons, and underfunded organization that only lasted for three. Still, Allgaier did the most with that equipment and was able to net a top-10 finish in the car — an eighth at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Allgaier deserves a shot in a Cup car capable of winning races. There are plenty of competitive Cup rides that might be available next season, including the Chip Ganassi Racing No. 1, the Stewart-Haas Racing No. 41 and the Leavine Family Racing No. 95.

Not only would Allgaier provide any of those teams with the talent to compete for wins, but he also brings sponsorship with him. Brandt Professional Agriculture has been with Brandt since 2011. The company has been with Allgaier through the best and worst of times and would likely make the jump with him if he chose to do so.

Even if Brandt only signs on to do part of the season, it would be more sponsorship than Bell, Daniel Hemric or Ross Chastain bring to the table.
