Keith started his career in the mid-1980s as a commercial crab fisherman. He began working in French restaurants when he was 12 years old. Shortly, Keith became an executive chef. He has his product line of sauces and dry rubs called Captain Keith’s Catch. In 2005. Keith made his reality TV debut on the Discovery Channel program Deadliest Catch. He then started appearing on another Discovery Channel program, After the Catch in 2007.
In 2012, Colburn left the program After the Catch. After that, he started hosting the program Deadliest Catch: The Bait in 2013. Keith hosted 36 episodes of the program from 2013 to 2016. He currently works as the Captain and Owner of one of the Bering Sea’s premier crab vessels, the FV Wizard. Rumors are that Keith is set to be back on the program Deadliest Catch.
