She has been working at WSAV News 3 as a Chief Meteorologist since joining back in October 2007 until she retired in July 2023. Earlier, before joining WSAV, Allred worked as a meteorologist, at Freedom Communications for three years.
In 2016, Kris did coverage on Hurricane Matthew for more than 24 hours. In addition, she stayed on air by herself for 12 hours. Afterward, WSAV received both an Associated Press and Gabby Award for Hurricanes Matthew.
