Leon Edwards Highlights
The UFC London co-main event wrapped up with Leon Edwards picking up a split decision over Gunnar Nelson.
Edwards flipped the script on his opponent in the opening round, racking up all sorts of control time against the proven grappler. Come round-two, Edwards came up with a massive elbow from the clinch that sent Nelson crashing to the canvas. A brutal barrage of ground strikes landed just before the round ended. Nelson went for it in round three, finding the takedown and taking full mount. From there, he was able to land some ground strikes of his own but was never able to really posture up to inflict some fight-ending damage.
Leon Edwards Cowboy | Leon Edwards Cowboy Cerrone
Leon Edwards spoiled Donald Cerrone’s chance at UFC history today when he defeated “Cowboy” in UFC Fight Night 132’s main event.
Edwards (16-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) pushed his winning streak to six fights in the welterweight division when he beat Cerrone (33-11 MMA, 20-8 UFC) by unanimous decision in the UFC Fight Pass-streamed headliner at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.
Cerrone could’ve been the outright holder of most career UFC wins if he had been victorious.

Dana White speaks out on Jorge Masvidal’s backstage brawl with Leon Edwards at UFC London
Adopted:https://metro.co.uk
Published:17 Mar 2019
Masvidal was conducting an interview with ESPN just minutes after his knockout victory over Darren Till when British welterweight Edwards interrupted and told him to ‘shut up’ for refusing to commit to a July fight date. The American approached Edwards before the pair traded blows and had to be separated by members of security. It’s understood police were later sent to the fighters’ hotels to further investigate the violent altercation. Edwards, who earlier beat Gunnar Nelson in convincing fashion in front of a sold-out O2 Arena, sustained a cut during the scuffle with Masvidal and UFC president White has reacted to the incident. He said: ‘I can’t even believe that this happened. ‘We [the UFC] need to do a much better job of making sure this s*** doesn’t happen at any of our events.’
Masvidal blamed ‘loser’ Edwards for the backstage brawl and claimed that his rival’s pals tried to sucker punch him following the altercation. ‘So I’m doing my interview, and this hooligan comes by saying some stuff,’ Masvidal explained. ‘[He says] “July, you’ll get your ass kicked in July.” And I go ‘Maybe bro, cause whatever, maybe I want to kick your ass in April. Maybe I don’t want to wait till July. Maybe I don’t even want to fight you cause you’re not worth the training camp. I’ll fight you here, you’re a scrub. ‘So I tell him “Just say it to my face like a man. You’re saying it walking away. We’re both men.” As I walk up to him, I’ve got my hands behind my back to signal I’m not coming here for problems. But he put his hands up like this [raises fists]. ‘It’s on video, and he walks towards me. Well, where I’m from, if you do that, you’re going to punch me in the face. That’s not going to happen. ‘You’re a JV beta. You are what you are a bro, you’re just a loser in life. You’re not going to get a hit off on me. So I did the three-piece with the soda, and then just glided out of there. ‘Then some of his friends tried to sucker punch me… those guys did a big mistake.’
