Venturing into the world of comedy in 2007, Sounds started as a stand-up comedian on Don’t Get Gassed which is a monthly show at Caroline Broadway New York. He later became the creator of the Take It Personal show at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in NY. Take it Personal show features hip hop artists narrating their true-life stories which later inspired A Tribe called Yes cast.

He also had an Improv comedy show with Alicia Keys in development for VH1 and a comedy series on Tidal. Since 2017 Sounds has hosted Laff Mobb’s Laff Tracks on TruTv. Former “Def Comedy Jam” co-creator Bob Sumner is among “Laff Mobb’s” executive producers.

Cipha was fired by Hot 97 radio in 2017 after having loggerheads with the station. Hot 97 announced his dismissal just 24 hours after he had publicly voiced his frustrations with the station handling of the departure of the longest-serving radio Dj Angie Martinez. The station went on to announce Nessa Nitty as the replacement for the outgoing host Cipha which left him with no options but to accept his dismissal after working for almost two decades with the New-based radio station.
