Hiscox began her career as a broadcast journalist at CFPL-TV, CBC Montreal in Canada. This was followed by a position at Global television  Network and CHCH where she hosted several news segments.

She hosted a morning show on 1290 CJBK alongside Steve Garrison in London, Ontario from 1990 to 1991. Other than broadcast journalism, Hiscox also featured on several radio talk shows on FM96 CFPL-Fm. She works alongside Wendy Mesley and Diana Swain.

Currently, Hiscox hosts CBC  News Now airing from 6 to 10 am. Working for CBC, she has reported on six consecutive Olympic games in Turin, Athens, Beijing, London, Sochi, and Vancouver as well as the American Games held in Toronto

Hiscox has received recognition for exceptional work in her field as a journalist. She won the Canadian Screen Award for Best National News Anchor and has received three nominations for Gemini Award for Best Host and Best News Anchor.

Currently, Hiscox is in her 11th year beginning the news day as the morning host at the CBC Network. She has worked in other CBC’s bureaus in London and Washington. In early 2000, Hiscox started taking acting classes for a second career and got cast in several movies including Where Money Is and Adiva Christmas Carol.

Hiscox is in her 13th season as the host of MORNING LIVE on CBC News Network, bringing viewers all the information they need to start their day. It’s an exciting, dynamic program and Hiscox is thrilled to be at the center of it, telling the important stories, talking to the newsmakers, and, when events warrant, taking the show to where the story is happening.

Drawing on her prior extensive experience as a network reporter, Hiscox has taken viewers to the Humboldt bus crash in Saskatchewan in 2018, the Quebec City mosque shooting, the terror attacks in Ottawa and Paris, the RCMP shootings in Moncton, New Brunswick, and to the scene of many other major news events.

She has covered the Royal Weddings of both Prince William and Prince Harry, as well as the Diamond Jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth, and has led the CBC News coverage of eight consecutive Olympic Games.
