In the summer of 2000, Francine Lacqua joined Bloomberg as an intern in London, initially contributing to French television. Swiftly, she secured a permanent position with French Television as a producer later that year. By 2001, she ventured into presenting French news output.
In 2003, Lacqua transitioned to Bloomberg’s UK television output, assuming the role of a reporter covering significant events such as OPEC meetings, European Finance Ministers’ gatherings, G7 summits, and World Economic Forum meetings, including the annual Davos meeting in Switzerland. During this period, she conducted in-depth interviews with notable figures like Mark Mobius, George Soros, Christine Lagarde, Warren Buffett, and Jean-Claude Trichet.
In 2004, Lacqua achieved a noteworthy milestone by interviewing the then-Lebanese Prime Minister, Rafic Hariri, shortly before his tragic assassination in the same location a year later.
