In 1992, Walsh started working with co-star Rick Mercer and former CODCO co-stars Cathy Jones and Greg Thomey on the creation of a new television satirical comedy series called This Hour Has 22 Minutes. The show became famous for accosting politicians and subjecting them to satirical interviews hence receiving strong ratings during its earlier seasons. Walsh created a character Marg Delahunty, played by herself. Marg Delahunty would humiliate the politicians, by providing criticism and matriarchal advice by reciting a scripted piece.
