Romero is well known as 1 of 50 volunteers who offered to stay behind and provide humanitarian relief to the local population of South Mississippi immediately following Hurricane Katrina.

They showed selfless behavior operating in conditions without power, warm meals, or hot showers, and were working diligently from sun up to sun down. Within an hour of Hurricane Katrina cruising out of the AOR, they immediately cleaned off the runway at Keesler Air Force Base allowing the first plane to land bringing medical stores, food, and water to the ravaged region.

Romero’s career began when he went to a military school. At the Air Force, he discovered that he could study meteorology. and went on with it. While there, he worked as a weather forecaster /observer at the United States Air Force. He was then recruited as the police in the City of Watauga in 2013.

In 2014, Alberto joined WFAA Media in Dallas where he worked as a meteorologist. He has also worked at Gannett and KYTX CBS 19 as a meteorologist. In 2018 January, Alberto joined the Fox 4 Weather team and has been working alongside Evan Andrew, Dionne Anglin, Hanna Battah, and Alex Boyer among others.
