Boylan was on the capability of Colby College from 1988 to 2014. In 2000, she was named “Professor of the Year” at Colby College. She transferred to Barnard in 2014, where she is both Professor of English and Anna Quindlen Writer-in-Residence. Boylan has authored thirteen books, including novels, collections of short stories, and her memoir. Her memoir, Good Boy: My Life in Seven Dogs was posted on April 21, 2020, with Celadon Books.

In 2013, Boylan was desired as the first openly transgender co-chair of GLAAD’s National Board of Directors. Boylan also serves on the Policy Advisory Board of Gender Rights Maryland[14] and the Board of Trustees of the Kinsey Institute for Research on Sex, Gender, and Reproduction.

Career

Uranga developed Mocedades in 1969 with eight members. After multiple group changes, Uranga together with her sister Izaskun, her brother Roberto, and three other male members became the so-called “historic six” members of Mocedades who came second in the 1973 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Eres Tú”, and the band subsequently established a hugely successful music career in Spain and Latin America.

She was the lead singer on many of Mocedades’ most successful songs, such as the international smash hit “Eres Tú” and “Tómame o Déjame.” Uranga exited Mocedades in 1984 to pursue a solo profession, although she failed to surpass her victory in Mocedades. In the mid-1990s, Uranga entered a new band called El Consorcio. She has furthermore appeared as herself multiple times on Spanish-language television shows. Amaya served from a wheelchair in 2011 after splitting her femur.
